CPC maps out success with Photoscape DVD contract

CPC has won a major contract with BlueSky International to produce DVD packages of Photoscape, a revolutionary computer-generated 3D map of the country. The deal involves the production of thousands of DVD packages for both the professional and consumer market. Providing real life views of the whole of England and Wales on a PC, Photoscape is set to change the way we view the world and represents a completely new type of interactive atlas.

The idea has also caught on in the gaming and training world, with the 3D landscape visualisations being added to packages such as Flight Simulator.

BlueSky International was formed after a management buyout in 2003 from Getmapping plc. One of the UK's leading aerial photography innovators, BlueSky supplies highly detailed aerial photography of Britain and offers sophisticated 3D modelling to create computer cityscapes and landscapes such as Photoscape.

BlueSky and CPC are also working in partnership to take advantage of new personalised printing technology recently acquired by CPC. Promotional prints and materials can be personalised by matching contact databases to print output and aerial photography can be automatically incorporated with aerial images centred on contact address locations.

CPC provide innovative print, packaging and promotional solutions in addition to their established digital media services that includes CD and DVD production. The company specialises in project managed services to handle complex requirements where flexibility and speed are crucial.

"We needed a partner that could quickly produce just a handful of DVDs for a launch, but then turnaround a high volume quickly. This is where CPC has been fantastic and with their flexibility and ability to provide everything we need at a single source, it makes the whole process much easier for us" says Rachel Eddy, Managing Director of BlueSky International.
