Blackwell Publishing embrace the digital age with CD's to enhance academic publications

Blackwell Publishing, one of the largest independent publishers of academic books, journals and educational software, is taking advantage of 'one stop' CD duplication, packaging and on-demand printing services from digital media specialists CPC.

cd educationAs well as CD's for educational CD Educationsoftware, Blackwell's publications are increasingly being enhanced by authors with additional information in electronic form on CD's. From their headquarters in Malmesbury, Wiltshire, CPC duplicate tens or thousands of CD's on demand and package for shipping to the Blackwell distribution centre in Abingdon.

According to Brian Johnson of Blackwell Publishing, the one- stop service offered by CPC is particularly appealing, "We simply order everything we need and CPC handle absolutely everything, making sure the product is delivered quickly to our high quality standards. It makes our life much easier allowing us to concentrate on important customer service issues".

Still a family-owned business, Blackwell was established in the 1920's and is respected worldwide as a leading academic publisher. The group run the well known Blackwell bookshops and publish books and journals for humanities, economics, social services, science and other areas of research and learning.

As well as CD's, CPC are helping Blackwell with the data capture of printed documents such as academic study manuals. These are then transferred onto CD's and sometimes reproduced as hard copies using CPC's latest digital printing technology. "CPC can usually sort out just about any requirement and the fast, on-demand services for printing and CD's can be really useful for small quantities, allowing us to provide a more flexible service and reduce our own stock holding" says Brian Johnson.
