Carbon offsetting is a process whereby an individual or a company takes action to prevent the release of emissions elsewhere, or secure the obsorbtion of atmospheric carbon dioxide, of an amount that matches or exceeds their own unavoidable emissions through the processes they employ.

The World Land Trust is an ecological charity that facilitates a Carbon Balanced Programme, a means for companies to offset these emissions/greenhouse gases they cannot avoid. Companies that offset their unavoidable emissions by Carbon Balancing are helping to save and restore critically threatend habitats and species.

Working with the World Land Trust, CPC have ceased the initiative and for a small charge can now offer its clients the opportunity to "Carbon Balance" all of their printed projects by selecting the use of Carbon Balanced papers. Additionally, the process entitles you the client to include a specially developed logo that can be displayed on your printed job. This instant, highly visible seal conveys your commitment and will enhance the brand of your product.

Exclusion zone

The exclusion zone ( indicated by the solid blue line) is the minimum area around the Cabon Balanced Logo that must remain clear of typography or any other graphic device.

The formula for the exclusion zone is shown below and applies to all sizes of logo reproduction. It is calculated by using twice the height of th "T" in Trust and varies in direct proportion to the size at which the logo is reproduced.
